Outsourcing especially to the small business owner seems to seriously fly against all that seems 'right.'
Small business owners are an interesting breed. (I now know this personally.)
We believe in our abilities to do all things. As in everything.
Problem with the server? I'll take care of it. Issue with the postal meter? Let me at it. Disaster with accounts receivable? Will you please for the love of all that is holy let ME fix it???
It's something.
But the smartest and most nimble of all small businesses owners (you know, the ones that have 16 donut shops instead of just 1) have discovered that outsourcing is hardly just a necessity...its a MUST!
Dignity and ego be damned...if you are going to get rich or die trying, then outsourcing is going to come into play and I could care less how small your operations are.
You will have to make a dedicated practice out of handing over responsibilities knowing that your time and talents are better served elsewhere in your business model.
There it is...the honesty you simply must take to heart.
Don't get me wrong...it will be difficult at first as we all tend to believe in the power of ME. But there is, on the flip side, a magic to what others can bring to your business when you allow them to by outsourcing.
New thoughts. New possibilities. New avenues of savings and profits.
As a business owner, aren't those the things you told everyone YOU could do?
Outsourcing has become the CORNERSTONE to my company. I look forward to the input of people who will bring me ideas and solutions that are not in my head.
And while I myself resisted at first, I came to believe.
Talk about the lights coming on!
